Life in Ottawa

On December 30th, 2009, Prime Minister Harper thinking Canadians did not care prorogued Parliament until March 3rd, 2010.

We all know what Canadians think of that decision: there is no one left that is that foolish or naïve enough to argue that Canadians “do not care” or believe prorogation is “just a routine matter”.

However the Liberal Party has been put in overdrive and I for one will be quite pleased when March 3rd rolls around so that I can get a bit of a breather.

For the last week and a half, the party has organized policy panels and roundtable discussions on a whole host of issues ranging from the economy, governance of independent agencies, international development , poverty, white collar crime, support for veterans, etc, etc.

The quality of the presenters, the presentations and the turnout at these events has been amazing.

Canadians do care. I have never been more proud of the Liberal Party. We are working, and doing the job Canadians elected us to do.
