On my Facebook entry earlier today, I stated that the UPEI Student Union did not support the decision of the PEI Human Rights Commission to eliminate mandatory retirement for UPEI professors. This was an error on my part. The Union supports the decision of the Commission but is of the view that the University will have to implement a strict policy of performance evaluation so that the high standard of instruction at UPEI will be maintained.
